About

The beginning of Rachel’s passion and love for art started with her grandfather’s enjoyment for woodworking. Rachel spent many summers vacationing with her grandparents, who of which had a huge impact in her life choice to become an artist. Rachel’s grandfather was a phenomenal wood worker and welder and helped develop her appreciation for working with her hands.

Fine artist Rachel Schutt is a 2010 graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design and proud member and welding instructor of the largest maker’s space in the world, Columbus Idea Foundry. Rachel’s work has been selected for juried exhibitions for Ohio Art League, Urbana University’s Miller Center for Visual Arts as well as Shadowbox Live’s Gallery of Echoes: ColumbUS Experience. Rachel offers her work to participate in Fashion Week Columbus’ silent auctions, which helps raise funds for the organization’s scholarship opportunity that is awarded annually to a CCAD fashion student. Rachel has also exhibited 8 canvas prints of selected works from her “Continuum” series at COSI The Center of Science and Industry!
